The Tutoring Assistant plays an important role in supporting tutors and students with challenges in foundational and comprehension skills.

**General Responsibilities:**

Attend an onboarding session to receive training in Science of Reading curricula and learn ECCR’s procedures and policies.
Provide a background check.
Collaboration with tutors to implement individualized educational programs/activities.
Support the use of instructional materials that cater to students from varied skill sets.
Implement positive behavioral intervention

The Reading Tutor plays an important role in supporting students who face learning challenges with foundational and comprehension skills.

**General Responsibilities:**

Must be a certified teacher in the State of Indiana and have completed all necessary Science of Reading course work for the State of Indiana.
Assess the individual needs of students, particularly those at risk due to lower reading abilities and skill gaps.
Collaboration with ECCR staff, parents, RCS and other stakeholders to design individualized educational programs/activities.
Provide academic instruction in identified areas of need using Science of Reading framework or approved curricula.
Utilize data to analyze student achievement and enhance educational decision-making.
Plan and develop instructional materials that cater to students from varied skill sets.
Implement positive behavioral intervention systems and rapport to improve student behavior and maintain a safe, orderly learning environment.
